Sparta Ski Team | Feb. 20, 2019
JV Championship Tomorrow Feb. 21 at 5pm
Tomorrows race will consist of one giant slalom run and one slalom run. In the past the GS race takes place first. JV racers with GS and Slalom skis should bring both sets of race skis for the competition. Make sure you bring your Sparta Race Suit and your helmet chin guard and/or mouth guard for the slalom race. Bring along a screwdriver that works with your helmet to install/remove your chin guard.
The JV Championship is limited to 6 racers for the boys team and 6 racers for the girls team. Sadly, there will be no X-racers for this competition. The following racers will be competing in the JV Championship Olivia Calandrillo, Evalyn Fitzsimmons, Sean Hargrave, Colin Kowalski, Jack Maraziti, Will Mowbray, Bailey Plotts, Lucas Rendina, Jake Scott, Rylee Selsor and Kayla Smetana.
I am confident we will do well at the JV Championships. Our JV racers have worked hard all season to get here and they deserve to be victorious.
Come to Mountain Creek, make some noise and cheer on the Sparta Ski Team!
This is a ski team event and all racers on the Sparta ski team are required to attend.
Petro Giant Slalom Qualifier Feb. 22 at 2pm
On Friday the varsity boys and girls ski teams will be competing in the Petro GS Qualifier Race. Since both the boys and girls varsity ski teams have already qualified for the State Championships, this will be a fun race for our ski team to prepare for the upcoming races. The following racers will be competing in the Petro Qualifier: Claudia Calafati, Olivia Finkeldie, Charlie Flint, Jack Imgrund, Connor McAndris, Cora Moriarty, Brendan Muhs, Polina Novozhilova, Bailey Plotts, Tucker Sears, Jillian Stote, Joe Russo and Rachel Young.
The bus will be leaving the high school at 11am and returning to the school when the race is over.
This is a ski team event and all racers on the Sparta ski team are required to attend.
THE STEVEN PETRO NJISRA SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP :
All Sparta seniors competing in the race are eligible for the Scholarship as long as the application is submitted prior to the race.
