The Sparta Ski Team captured the spotlight at the 2025 NJISRA Year-End Coaches Banquet last week. Head Coach Rod Calafati was recognized for the fourth year with the prestigious "Ski Coach of the Year" award. Furthermore, the Boys' and Girls' Ski Teams were celebrated for their exemplary conduct, earning the title of "Outstanding Sportsmanship."

With our final slalom gate training now behind us, both the boys’ and girls’ ski teams are looking forward to the last two slalom league races. The athletes have been working hard, showing great progress, and truly enjoying their time on snow together.
Please note that Sunday’s and Monday’s All-Varsity races could potentially be moved to Tuesday and Wednesday if Mother Nature delivers a blow. I will keep everyone posted as we continue to monitor the forecast.

Ryan & Pat medal at ROC! Ryan Grycuk finished 8th in slalom and 9th in Giant Slalom, while Pat Fitzsimmons took 9th in slalom. Ryan was named NJ 1st Team All-State, Pat was named 2nd Team All-State, and Finn Kowalski 3rd Team All-State.

This season has been amazing! Our girls rocked it at States, securing 5th place overall and the title of Small Public School Champion. And our Sparta Varsity Boys finished strong in 6th place! Our JV Girls also nailed it with a podium finish at JV State Championships! Bravo Spartans!
