SHS Alpine Racers Charging The Course!

The Mega West Conference Giant Slalom Race at Blue Mountain yesterday showcased impressive performances from both our boys' and girl's varsity ski teams. Unfortunately, both teams had to overcome the absence of injured team captains. The exceptional course conditions and the determination of our athletes allowed them to conquer the minute-long runs with the spirit of true champions.

Team Captain Madison Campisi continued her podium streak with a stellar 2nd-place finish,  guiding the girls' ski team to a 2nd-place podium position with a team time of 9:39.27. Additionally, Junior Aubrey Zimmerman showcased her strength by finishing eighth overall, while Sunny Young (23) and Julia Smith (25) also made valuable contributions to the team's time. The girl’s ski team achieved 6 wins and 1 loss, maintaining their hold on second place in the NJISRA. Ridge High School emerged as the race winner with a team time of 9:31.22, while Blair Academy claimed 3rd place on the podium with a team time of 9:40.80.

Sophomore Ryan Grycuk and Senior Drew Young, finished 9th and 10th respectively. They performed exceptionally well in the Giant Slalom ski race, leading the boys' team to a commendable fourth-place finish. Their teammates, Pat Fitzsimmons (24th) and Sam Scalera (35th), also made valuable contributions to the team's overall time. The race was won by Pingry, with a team time of 8:52.26, followed by Morristown Beard in second place with a team time of 9:20.89, and Ridge in third place with a team time of 9:23.24. Despite facing 2 losses, the boys' team managed to secure 6 wins. As a result, they maintained their position in fourth place overall in the league.

The Sparta Ski Team wishes our team Captains Devon Dobbs and George Flint a speedy recovery.

Congratulations Girls On Podium 2nd!
