The Sparta High School Ski Team is off to a fabulous start. We recently completed our 16th training session, making this a very productive pre-race training season. We set a new milestone with the most on snow coached trainings going into the New Year.
Completing 16 training sessions is a significant achievement, and I am proud to report the Sparta Ski Team is looking well-prepared for the upcoming races. The hard work, dedication, and teamwork put into the training sessions will undoubtedly contribute to our success on race days. If only we could get a few more pre-race gate trainings, I would be thrilled.
Congratulations to Devon Dobbs, Ben Dykstra, Alek Diamond, Ryan Grycuk, & Chase Thonus for your commitment and for never missing a practice. Consistency and dedication in attending every practice are crucial elements for success in alpine racing and for fostering a strong team dynamic.
Thank you Stratton Mountain for hosting our Vermont training. We all enjoyed the excellent surface conditions, great temperatures, and race mountain vibe! Thanks to the Sparta Ski Boosters for putting together a well-organized smooth weekend. Thank you, parents, for making the journey up north to give your athletes this beneficial training opportunity. And lastly, thank you to all our racers and alpine race coaches for working hard, having fun, and making it memorable.
This year's on-snow trainings at Big Snow were highly successful allowing for gradual progression in developing strong technical skills. Thanks to the Don’t Just Ski RACE special guest coaches Francesco Sarti L200 (Stratton), Robert Lincoln L200 (Mt Peter), and Kyle Markovich (SHS) for your time and expertise!
