Sparta Ski Team Update | Dec. 23, 2018

Hello Racers and Parents,

I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday break. I wanted to take this opportunity, to thank all our racers who worked hard during dry-land training. A good number of you never missed a practice, not even a jump squat! Your dedication and enthusiasm is really inspiring and will be rewarded. I would also like to thank our Ski Team Captains for their leadership and assistance during dry-land training. Your willingness to work extra hard has motivated every racer on our ski team. Good job!

Now that dry-land training has come to an end, the Sparta Alpine Race Ski Team would like to thank our two dry-land sponsors, Revolution Balance Boards and RitFit for their generous donation of dry-land training equipment, helping our ski racers focus on form, balance & strength training. Your support has made a world of difference in preparing our racers for future alpine races. Be sure to read the recent blog article "Dryland Training Sponsors". Thank You for supporting the Sparta Ski Team!

A special thank you goes out to my dear friend in Vermont, Sue Kramer (Level 300 USSA Race Coach, PSIA Examiner & BOC Lead Technical Coach), for taking the time to personally sign her book, "Be Fit To Ski - A Complete Guide to Alpine Skiing Fitness", handed out to all our racers at the last practice before the winter break. "Ski Strong" - Sue Kramer.
Thanks Sue!

Welcome on board RaceWax.com, our latest team sponsor. Your donation of velcro ski straps will ensure our ski edges remain sharp and our bases perfectly polished. Racers, always  transport your race skis with your pair of RaceWax.com ski ties, secured at the tip and tail. To keep your skis waxed and tuned, visit RaceWax.com.

Recently during practice, we conducted a ski waxing clinic for our racers, demonstrating how to easily wax your skis with the proper tools and waxes. Many of you asked if we would be doing another waxing clinic and a number of parents expressed an interest in attending. I will try to schedule another waxing clinic for all to attend in the new year.

Mark your calendars, our first Giant Slalom Race is Friday January 11th at 5pm. Come cheer on the Ski Team.

Coach Porter and I,
wish all our racers, families and friends
a very safe and Happy Holidays.
See you in 2019!
